Avlea Folk Embroidery {CROSS STITCH}
Avlea Folk Embroidery is owned and operated by designer, Krista West, from Salem, Oregon.
Kirsta creates cross stitch designs inspired by the rich and beautiful textile traditions of the Mediterranean.
"I travel regularly to Greece to be inspired by the vibrant colors and designs of historic Mediterranean textiles. I translate these designs into beautiful kits for the modern maker and my unique geometric and art-inspired designs appeal to a wide variety of crafters.
The word "avlea" in Greek means "courtyard" and the courtyard was the place where women worked their embroideries while they took a break from their daily labors, finding refreshment in creating heirlooms for future generations. My hope is that you, too, will be refreshed by these beautiful textiles."
